This notice covers the Performance Delta track day calendar at trackdays.performancedelta.co.uk (“the tracker”). It's separate from the privacy policy for the Performance Delta shop, which covers orders and your shop account.
- You can browse the calendar without signing in. We only hold personal information once you sign in and use member features.
- Other members only see your display name, photos, car details and the events you're attending if you tick “Show my attendance to other members”. They never see your email address.
- Emails are opt-in only, and you can turn each one off on your profile page.
- We don't sell your information, show adverts, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
Who we are
The tracker is run by Performance Delta Ltd (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described here. If you have a question about your information or this notice, email hello@performancedelta.co.uk.

Our lawful bases
- Consent: for showing your attendance, display name, photos and car details to other members, and for each type of notification email. You give it by ticking the relevant box, and you can withdraw it at any time by unticking it.
- Legitimate interests: for running your member account and the tracker's features you choose to use (such as friends, hearts and submissions), keeping the service secure, and letting our administrators manage it. We only use your information in ways you'd reasonably expect from a members' track day calendar.
Who can see your information
Other members
Only if you've ticked “Show my attendance to other members”, other signed-in members can see:
- your display name and profile photo,
- your car details and car photo (on your profile card),
- the events you've marked as attending, and
- that you're attending, in the notifications and emails sent to your friends and to members watching an event, and
- any paddock sharing tags you've added to an event you're attending, and whether you're going as a driver, passenger or to watch,
- kit you've said you'll bring, and garage shares you run or are in (with the cost, if the host entered one).
People you may know: we may suggest you to members who share a friend with you, or who've ticked the same track days as you. The suggestion shows your display name and photo, and either the name of the friend you have in common (someone they're already friends with) or the track day you both attended. Nobody can see your full friends list. You can turn this off with “Suggest me to friends of my friends” on your profile page, and it only ever applies while you're sharing your attendance. Profile cards also show signed-in members how many friends they have in common with you.
Friends can also see you in their friends list, and members can find you in friend search. If you haven't ticked the box, you won't appear to other members and notifications about your attendance just say “another member”. Visitors who aren't signed in only ever see how many people are attending an event, never who. Other members never see your email address.
Requests: if you ask someone for their passenger seat or to join their garage share, they see your display name, photo, car and your note, and can accept or decline. Accepting opens a private chat between you both.
Chat
Messages to a friend can only be read by the two of you. Event chats can be read by any signed-in member, so don't post anything there you wouldn't want other members to see. Each message shows your display name and photo. You can delete your own messages at any time (everyone then sees “Message deleted”). If you block someone, you can't message each other and you won't see their messages in event chats; they aren't told. If you report a message, administrators see that message, who sent it, where it was posted, and who reported it. They don't see the rest of a private conversation.
Our administrators
A small number of Performance Delta administrators can see the full list of registered members, including email addresses, profiles, photos and whether each member has consented to share their attendance. They use it to run and support the tracker, and to review track day submissions and feature ideas. They can read event chats, remove messages, and stop a member from posting in chats.
Service providers
We use these providers to run the tracker. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:
- Railway: hosts the tracker and its database.
- Shopify: handles sign-in through your Performance Delta customer account.
- Cloudinary: stores and serves profile and car photos.
- Resend: sends the notification emails you've opted in to.
- Google Fonts: serves the fonts the site uses. Your browser requests them directly from Google, which means Google receives your IP address.
- postcodes.io: turns the first half of your postcode into an approximate location for working out distances. We only send it that postcode area, never anything else about you.
- OpenStreetMap (via the Overpass API): provides the track outlines for circuit maps. We only send it a circuit's location.
- Open-Meteo: provides weather forecasts. We only send it a circuit's location, never anything about you.
- Your browser's notification service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla): delivers notifications to devices where you've turned them on. The content of each notification is encrypted on its way to your device.
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, countries outside the UK, including the USA. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law allows, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, standard contractual clauses or the UK–US data bridge.
We don't sell your information or share it with anyone for marketing.
Emails
We only email you about things you've opted in to on your profile page: friend requests (and accepted invites), friends attending events, activity on events you're watching, new dates at circuits and organisers you follow, unread chat messages (which chats have new messages, never the messages themselves), and a weekly or monthly round-up. Each is off until you turn it on, and you can turn any of them off at any time.
Phone app and notifications
You can install the tracker on your phone's home screen. If you turn on notifications on a device, we send notifications there for new chat messages (including the start of the message), friend requests, activity on events you're watching, and new dates you follow. You can turn them off on your profile page, or in your phone or browser settings, at any time. When a device stops accepting notifications, we delete its subscription automatically.
Calendar sync
Your profile page has a private calendar link, which your calendar app uses to show the events you're attending. Anyone who has the link can see those events, so don't share it. If you think someone else has it, reset it on your profile page and the old link stops working straight away.
Cookies
The tracker only uses cookies it needs to work:
- Sign-in session cookie: keeps you signed in. It expires after 7 days.
- A short-lived sign-out cookie (about 20 seconds): shows the “Signed out” message after you log out.
Your browser also stores a note saying you've seen the “How it works” tour. If you use the installed app, it also keeps a simple “you're offline” page so it can show that when there's no signal. Neither is used for tracking.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. These cookies are strictly necessary, so we don't ask for consent to use them.
How long we keep it
- Your profile, photos, attendance (including tags and log notes), hearts, follows and friends: for as long as you have a member profile. If you remove a photo, we delete it from our photo storage too. Unticking “I'm attending” on a day deletes that day's tags and notes.
- Messages to friends: until the person who sent them deletes them, or their member profile is deleted. Event chats: deleted 12 months after the track day. A deleted or removed message's text is wiped straight away.
- Device notification subscriptions: until you turn notifications off, or the device stops accepting them.
- If you ask us to delete your member profile, we delete it along with your attendance, hearts, friends, chat messages, invite links and notifications.
- Track day submissions and feature ideas: kept while they're useful for running the tracker. Ask us if you'd like yours removed.
- Sign-in sessions: up to 7 days.
Your choices and rights
On your profile page you can, at any time:
- untick “Show my attendance to other members”, which hides you from other members straight away,
- edit or clear your display name and car details,
- remove your profile or car photo, and
- turn each notification email on or off.
You can also untick individual events on the calendar, stop watching events on the Watching page, and remove friends on the Friends page.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your information, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, including deleting your member profile entirely, email hello@performancedelta.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we collect or who can see it, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top.
